  • is there anyone who can cover this solo?
Board >> Discuss Lessons >> Bossa Dorado
this solo up to tempo is unreal. i can get to about 80% speed, and possibly a bit higher if i truly grinded. but at 100%, it is blazing fast to the point my fingers feel like they are going to fly off my hand, and my picking hand feels sluggishly stumped into a stooper. :D
  • Picking Strategies measure 85 & 86 for the hardcore players who actually are attempting the solos in the Gypsy Bossas. :D

I finally see a point where maybe Stochelo was tired so he fell back on the pull off during a descending string change on measure 85. But on measure 86 he plays this lick found in Bossa Dorado a bit more challenging here by adding in the down stroke on the high e string in measure 86. In Bossa Dorado he utilizes a legato slide into the note on the high e string during the descending string change measure 79.

  • The Most impressive picking I have ever seen in my life Bar 80.

Mr. Stochelo Downstroke Gypsy Picking Master Gladiator Warrior Rosenberg!

In all my years of watching fast pickers, and I have seen many, this by far is the most impressive thing I have ever seen in terms of speed with the approach not appearing efficient in todays picking styles.

The picking of that descended minor arpeggio common gypsy lick is the most amazing feat of picking I have ever seen. I am not being funny, not one bit, your speed here is mindboggling given the fact most pickers these days would easily just upward sweep this yet you triple down. The days have gone by, I have this solo memorized yet this bar remains well out of reach. And I know it won't ever happen at your tempo. Am I jealous, maybe, haha, but can I be ok with my speed, very much so. And let me tell you why, because the solos you have crafted in this song you created sound so nice even at slowed up speeds.

So in conclusion I wanted to say a big thank you to both You Mr. Stochelo Rosenberg, and Christiaan van Hemert for the incredible amount of material here for guitar players. The resource here is about the best I have ever seen, keep going with what you are doing.

  • Measure 74 Beat 2 and 3 shift

On beat 2 and 3 there is a shift that Yngwie utilizes often in his mixed minor box shape shown in this measure. Thought I would share this with you guys, Yngwie will do the 3 notes then the shift to 4 notes into a down sweep into the e string, or 4 notes shift into 3 before sweeping into the down to the e string. This is a good tactic for speed when ascending, and helps to keep the fluidity of the sound going.
